The Cliff

As I approached Jim from behind, I could hardly believe what I was about to do. I'd known him hardly a month, yet here I was; about to push him off a cliff. He'd been asking for it, begging really. He deserved it.

I steadied myself with a long breath. This was madness. Could I really do it? I didn't have a choice now. Setting aside all doubts, I took one last step, and surged forward, propelling him off the sheer cliffs of Zanzibar.

Jim fell for a second. Two seconds. Then his glider's wings snapped out and he was away, soaring into the sunrise.
