Jiaozi (Chinese Dumplings) 饺子

Filling Ingredients

  1. 0.5 kg Ground Pork
  2. 0.5 kg White Cabbage
  3. 1 Cup Green Onions
  4. 2 Eggs
  5. 1.5 tsp. Salt
  6. 0.75 tsp. Pork Bouillon
  7. 1.5 tsp. Sesame Oil
  8. 1.5 tsp. Soy Sauce

Sauce Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

Filling Directions

  1. Chop everything as finely as possible.
  2. Mix everything in large bowl.

Sauce Directions

  1. Heat Canola Oil and Sesame Oilin a pan, but do not boil.
  2. Mix in remainder of ingredients. Best if allowed to marinate 30 minutes.

Dough Directions

  1. Combine dough ingredients in bowl (Your hands will work best for this).
  2. Knead until smooth -upto 30 minutes may be required.
  3. Roll dough into tube 1.5 cm in diameter, and cut into 3 cm sections.
  4. Flatten each chunk into 6 cm platters.
  5. Wet a fingers width around a platter & pile on filling.
  6. Press edges together to form half-circle shaped goodness.

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil dumplings in a covered pot of water 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Refill water as needed.
  3. Lightly pan-fry dumplings in 10/1 Canola Oil/Sesame Oil mixture until lightly browned.
  4. Serve with Sauce on the side.
